Sometimes a yard just needs a reset. Not a full gut job - just the right plants in the right spots, clean lines, and a little structure to pull everything together. That's exactly what this front yard needed, and honestly, it's one of those jobs where the difference speaks for itself.
We started by cleaning out what wasn't working and brought in fresh plantings that actually complement the home's brick and entry. The mix of textures - soft mounding evergreens, bright chartreuse shrubs, and low-growing ground-hugging varieties - gives the beds a lot of visual interest without looking overdone. Simple, but intentional.
The edging is one of those details that doesn't get enough credit. A clean, continuous border between the lawn and the beds makes the whole yard feel sharper. It separates everything clearly and keeps the look low-maintenance going forward. Paired with decorative rock as a ground cover, the beds stay looking fresh without constant upkeep.
We also incorporated landscape lighting along the walkway and through the beds. Path lights like these do two things - they make the entry safer at night and they let the landscaping work for the home after dark instead of just disappearing into the shadows. The planted beds look just as good in the evening as they do during the day.
That feeling of pulling into your own driveway and actually being proud of what you see - that's what a well-done landscape refresh can do. It doesn't have to be a massive overhaul. The right plants, crisp edging, and a few well-placed lights go a long way.
