Pool Area Grading and Hydroseeding in Lancaster NY

Getting a pool installed is a big deal. But once the construction crew wraps up and leaves, you're often left with a yard that looks like a construction zone - bare dirt, rough grades, and no lawn anywhere near the pool. That's exactly what we were working with here in Lancaster, NY.

Our first step was site prep and grading. Around a brand-new in-ground pool, the ground needs to be smooth and properly sloped before anything else happens. Rough or uneven soil doesn't just look bad - it can cause drainage headaches down the road. We worked the area down to a clean, consistent grade that ties in naturally with the rest of the yard.

Once the grading was dialed in, we got to work on the hydroseeding. You can see the bright teal-green slurry coating the prepared soil - that's the hydroseed mix being applied evenly across the pool surround and side yard areas. That color comes from the tackifier and mulch in the mix, which hold the seed in place and lock in moisture. It's one of the most efficient ways to establish a new lawn over large or disturbed areas, especially where you need uniform coverage fast.

We also shaped up the new landscape beds along the side of the house to tie the whole yard together. Clean bed lines make a big difference in how finished everything looks - even before the grass fills in. It's the kind of detail that separates a yard that looks done from one that just looks repaired.
